Rachel C. Ybarra, CPA, CGMA

rachRachel C. Ybarra is Executive Director, External Affairs Operations, at a Fortune 15 company. In this role, she has responsibility for philanthropic and public policy reporting, strategy and policy development, system design and reporting to the Board of Directors and external media. In addition, she has responsibility for the allocation of strategic financial resources. Rachel was appointed to this position in January 2014 and manages a team of 17 talented and dedicated individuals committed to leadership and results.

Prior to her appointment, Rachel was a Director where she developed corporate wide systems and corresponding policies on corporate contributions, memberships and lobbying. Prior to this position, Rachel was Associate Director, Corporate Financial Planning where she developed three and ten year financial models and business plans for a multi-billion dollar business.

Rachel joined the company in 1996 and has held various leadership and national positions including Commission Compensation Operation design and implementation of Finance centralization and standardization. So she is experience with compensation, behavior finance and business start-ups and consolidations.

Rachel is a third generation Texan. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a graduate of Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business Corporate Executive Education – Hispanic Leadership Development program. Rachel completed a Yale University MOOC – Financial Markets by economic Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Robert Shiller. She also completed a Financial Valuation and Analysis Program at the Center for the Advancement of Value Investing held by Dr. George Athanassakos in Toronto, Canada.

Rachel is a CPA in the state of Texas and holds a CGMA, a global designation for management accountants by the AICPA and CIMA, two of the world’s leading accounting organizations. Rachel enjoys the outdoors, reading, learning, traveling, art collecting, capital markets and all things related to empowering people to financial independence. She resides in Texas is an avid investor, mentor and educator.

Rachel’s goal is to help others create sizable and long-term social and economic value and as a result create the flexibility and freedom to embrace any future.
