E. Duane Heady

edcWith more than 25 years of career experience as an Insurance industry innovator and entrepreneur, Dallas-based Duane Heady has led several regional insurance companies and its affiliates.

Duane’s career mandate centers on the concept of combining the “art and science” of business operations, alongside the innate value of building high-performing teams. By combining strategic planning, aggressively pursuing technological changes and solutions, and understanding diverse customer bases, he has established a consistent winning record of delivering sustainable long-term results. By identifying strong leaders that embrace accountability while building magnetic work environments, Duane achieves excellence in business operations at scale.

He most recently served as EVP and COO with Imperial Management Corporation and its subsidiaries, helping the company double its value between 2013 and 2014. There, he also served as a member of its Board of Directors for three years. He managed the rebranding of Imperial Fire & Casualty Insurance Co. and ABC Insurance Agencies (with 36 retail outlets in Louisiana and Texas) with all phases of an original ad campaign and the re-launch of its proprietary websites; while for Miami’s RAC Insurance Partners, the team, led by the managing partners, improved the loss ratio by more than 40 points.

With Imperial Fire & Casualty Insurance Company, based in Opelousas, Louisiana, Duane managed the private passenger auto (5 states) and homeowner property (2 states), while reinventing its IT and claim departments. For New Orleans’ National Automotive Insurance Co., he facilitated the integration of NAIC into Imperial after a 2013 purchase.

Duane also established, co-owned and managed Concord Insurance Services, Inc., from 1987 through 2001. He ultimately sold the successful organization to Mercury General (MYC) of Los Angeles. Previous positions include working as a Consultant & Advisor to the CEO at Imperial Management Corp., where Duane implemented a customized agency software management system, an automatic call distribution for agents, and a VoIP telephone system for agencies and companies.
